DMOZ Gets Ugly

Today over at Shoemoney, Shoe relates a story where a DMOZ editor contacted him and wanted $5000 or he would remove Shoe’s listing in DMOZ! Pretty pathetic. Unfortunately, when Shoe told him to take a hike, he got delisted!

I wonder how much money DMOZ editors make, and if I should become one…lol

Quick Indexing Tool Update

Well, it took a little longer to get the blog I was setting up indexed using the Quick Indexing Tool I talked about a few days ago. It actually took 5 days to get indexed, which is much longer than the 24 hour example that was mentioned, but probably quicker than submitting your site to the search enginges (that can take weeks). So, not extraordinary, but probably worth it.

Quick Indexing Tool

I stumbled across a quick indexing tool by Blue Hat Seo. The tool uses various techniques to get your site indexed quickly; the example he provided was a site that was indexed in less than 24 hours. It’s a good little tool to get indexed, and one of the methods he uses to quickly index your site is social bookmarking sites, so it’s worth it to try out. I just submitted a site, so we’ll see how it goes. The tool is here, and you can read the blog post here.

John, thanks for my monitor and bestseller!

Domains For Sale

The following domains are all for sale. They’re all registered at GoDaddy, and I’ll do a  free push there ONLY. Most were bought for their age and topic, but several have page rank. The domains that have page rank are VALID, which includes live back links from other sites with page rank (there are exceptions, and those are specifically noted). Of course, any backlinks are not guaranteed, because who knows how long they’ll last! All these domains have age and have been continuously registered since the date provided below.

In no particular order:

Cost / domain name / age / date registered / backlinks / additional info (such as PR)

$10 creditreportonsale.com 3 yrs old, 8 Apr 04, a few backlinks

SOLD! americanhomespun.com, 7 yrs, 21 May 2000, hundreds of backlinks. This domain shows PR0 on several datacenters, and PR3 on the other half. Previous web design site.

SOLD! nationsmortgageonline.com 2 yrs, 1 jun 05, 0 backlinks

SOLD! meritmortgagefunding.com 4 yrs, 2 jun 03, ~30 backlinks

SOLD! preferredlendersearch.com 4 yrs, 2 jun 03, 0 backlinks

$25 myagentsite.com 5 years, 2 jun 02, 0 backlinks

$75 boulderrealestateonline.com, 4 yrs, 11 jun 03, >100 backlinks, PR3

$30 energyelement.com, 2 yrs, 12 jun 05, ~18 backlinks, PR2 - a great domain name for alternative energy - not many backlinks but I verified a few backlinks with page rank that were topically relevant, so I believe the page rank is valid

$75 alessentiel.com 6 yrs, 13 jun 01, ~30 backlinks, PR2

SOLD! skypath.net 10 YEARS!, 20 jun 97, ~7 backlinks, PR4 - domain shows PR4, but not seeing many backlinks - value is really with the age, not the page rank

$5 kazalu.com, ~3 MONTHS, 9 may 07, 0 backlinks, PR4 BUT I BELIEVE THIS PR TO BE FAKE - should disappear after the PR update

SOLD! schomes.net, 4 yrs, 25 may 03, 0 backlinks - good South Carolina real estate domain name

You can leave a reply here (comment) if you are interested. Paypal only. Domains $25 and under are generally not negotiable on price, although I may give a bulk discount. Domains over $25 may or may not be negotiable on price, depending on the domain.

SEOHosting Follows Up With An Email And Phone Call To Improve Customer Relations

Yesterday (Friday) when I got home I had a message on my answering machine from Chad at SEOhosting.com. If you’ve been reading (I know, probably nobody is), I was rather frustrated with seohosting in earlier posts. Apparently Chad was doing some searches on SEOhosting.com and came across my mad ranting, and decided to give me a call.

Chad apologized for my troubles, and said he wanted to make sure everything worked out ok. I told him I was frustrated with my experience and lost several days of work while I was trying to get hosting issues resolved, and was less than pleased with online support, but I’m good to go now. Chad gave me personal contact information for me to get a hold of him if I need anything, and he said he’d give me unlimited lifetime SEOhosting for free for my troubles. No, really, I’m sure it’s in the voice transcript (Chad, you’ve got that, right?).

Chad’s phone call tells me that SEOhosting at the very least has a clue and is a good indicator that they actually care about customer satisfaction. It’s a good sign. Chad told me that I was only the 40th or so SEOhosting customer, so they are VERY new, and they’re working out their training and support kinks.

This gives me some faith that they’re going to be doing a better job from here on out.

July’s World Domination Summary

Here’s July’s income summary:

Adsense: $22.90 (even got a token click here at Artifexus.net!)

Sponsored Directory Network Listings: $1100

That’s all gross income, not counting hosting, paypal fees, etc. Still, not too shabby.

I’ve been spending money like crazy, and I’ve had to pull back a bit. SEOhosting runs a pretty penny each month, I bought the Directory Network, I’ve got a bunch of domain names from TDNAM, and I’ve been link building, plus a few odds and ends (which add up to a pretty penny themselves). I’ve got a total of 80 domains in my pocket, and it’s just too many to work with right now. I’ll probably have a domain sale here and/or on Digital Point. I could use the money for other things, I won’t get around to putting decent sites on them all any time soon, and someone else could use them. Even though I’ve got too many, I’ll be keeping most of them.

Wish me luck on this 2 month old journey towards World Domination!
